Let \(Q\) be a smooth projective complex quadric surface in \({\mathbb{P}}^3\), and \(\mathcal{E}\) a rank two vector bundle on \(Q\). A jumping conic for \(\mathcal{E}\) is a smooth conic \(C\) (i.e. a hyperplane section of \(Q\)) such that \(\mathcal{E}_C\) has global sections. Jumping conics for \(\mathcal{E}\) are then identified by a set of hyperplanes of \(\mathbb{P}^3\), that is by a set of points \(S(\mathcal{E})\) in \({\mathbb{P}^3}^*\). If \(\mathcal{E}\) is stable of degree \((-1,-1)\) and \(c_2=4\), then \(S(\mathcal{E})\) is a symmetric determinantal cubic surface. The author shows that if \(\mathcal{E}\) is general in the moduli space, then the cubic \(S(\mathcal{E})\) is a Cayley cubic, and uniquely determines \(\mathcal{E}\). As a Corollary, he proves that the moduli space is rational, a result which was already proved by other means by \textit{L. Costa} and \textit{R. M. Miró-Roig} [Nagoya Math. J. 165, 43--69 (2002; Zbl 1020.14012)].
