The paper is concerned with a numerical study for the long time behavior and blow-up of solutions to a nonlinear dispersive PDE. After testing the code for exact solutions, the lump and the blowup solutions are shown to be critical in some sense; for certain type of initial data, no blowup was observed. In particular, the lump is shown to be unstable against both blowup and dispersion; it is claimed that the perturbations, considered here, test the nonlinear regime of the PDE for which so far no analytical results appear to be established.
