A one-dimensional bipolar Euler-Poisson system with boundary effects is considered in the paper. The existence of a weak solution is proved in [\textit{L. Hsiao} and \textit{K. Zhang}, Math. Models Methods Appl. Sci. 10, No. 9, 1333--1361 (2000; Zbl 1174.82350)]. The large-time behavior of uniformly bounded weak solutions is studied with the use of the energy integral technique.
