The authors consider the circular Kakeya set in \(\mathbb{R}\) as a closed set \(E\) of measure zero with its distance set \(D(E)=\{|x-y|,\;x,y\in E\}\) and establish that a lower bound of the Minkowski dimension of such a set \(E\) is \(1/2\). Moreover, they prove that there exists a circular Kakeya set having Hausdorff dimension zero. A relevant example of a circular Kakeya set in \(\mathbb{R}\) is the well-known Cantor set which has Hausdorff and Minkowski dimension \(\log 2/\log 3\).
