Numerical simulations for an axisymmetric turbulent jet diffusion hydrogen-air flame are performed using detailed chemistry. A probability density function (PDF) transport equation for the chemistry is coupled with a conventional CFD flow solver. Here the commercial Fluent code is used for solving the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations, while the PDF transport equation is solved with a Lagrangian Monte Carlo method. The IEM (Interaction by Exchange with the Mean) and the EMST (Euclidean minimum spanning tree) micro-mixing models required in the PDF transport equation are tested. A comparison with experimental data yields satisfactory results for both mixing models.
