Let \(G\) be a Hausdorff locally compact group. An \(\mathcal{LUC}\)-filter on \(G\) is a filter \(\chi\) such that for every \(A\in\chi\), there exist a neighborhood \(U\) of the identity and \(B\in\chi\) such that \(UB\subset A\). By \(G^{\mathcal{LUC}}\) the set is denoted of all maximal \(\mathcal{LUC}\)-filters endowed with a suitable topology. If, additionally, \(G\) is non-compact, then by using the compact covering number of \(G\), an ideal of the semigroup \(G^{\mathcal{LUC}}\) is constructed. Reviewer's remark: In my opinion, the paper is unreadable due to the following reasons: (i) It is not clear why \(G^{\mathcal{LUC}}\) is compact. Neither proof nor reference is given. (ii) It is not clear why \(G^{\mathcal{LUC}}\) is a semigroup. (iii) It is not clear if \(G^{\mathcal{LUC}}\) is a topological semigroup or a right topological semigroup. Proofs are missing.
