The authors show that, in an open non-Markovian queueing network with \(K\) infinite-server stations and renewal input, the \(K\)-dimensional vector of the busy servers can be approximated by a multivariate normal distribution, as the input rate infinitely increases. The authors use a dynamic screening method and then construct and solve the corresponding Kolmogorov equations for the associated Markov process.
