On the contact equivalence problem of second order ODEs which are quadratic with respect to the second order derivative (Q384230)

The problem of equivalence of 2nd-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) of the form \[ {y''}^2+A(x,y,y')y''+B(x,y,y')=0 \] under the action of the pseudogroup of contact transformations of the space \(\mathbb{R}^3(x,y,p)\), where \(p=y'\), is solved. The conditions for the solvability are given in terms of integrals of some one-dimensional distributions.
