    Let \(X\) be a space. The ordered configuration space of \(n\) points in \(X\) is defined to be the set \(F(X,n)=\{(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})\mid x_{i}\neq x_{j} \text{ for } i\neq j\}\). If \(X\) is a smooth complex algebraic variety, there exist several rational algebraic models that represent the rational homotopy type of \(F(X,n)\). The Fulton-MacPherson approach [\textit{W. Fulton} and \textit{R. MacPherson}, Ann. Math. (2) 139, No. 1, 183--225 (1994; Zbl 0820.14037)] needs the rational cohomology algebra of \(X\) and its Chern classes. The fact that Chern classes are irrelevant was proved independently by \textit{B. Totaro} [Topology 35, No. 4, 1057--1067 (1996; Zbl 0857.57025)] and \textit{I. Křiž} [Ann. Math. (2) 139, No. 2, 227--237 (1994; Zbl 0829.55008)]. The model of Křiž, obtained as a simplification of the Fulton-MacPherson one, is defined by adjoining to \(H^*(X^n)\) an exterior algebra, generated by odd degree elements, and quotienting by some relations. In the paper under review, the authors study the representation theory of the Křiž model and construct a large acyclic subcomplex, which is invariant for the action of the symmetric group, \(\Sigma_{n}\). A previous acyclic ideal was defined in [\textit{B. Berceanu, M. Markl} and \textit{S. Papadima}, Topology 44, No. 2, 415-440 (2005; Zbl 1062.55017)] but this last one is not a \(\Sigma_{n}\)-submodule.
