Based on difference equation theory, the authors propose family of non-stationary subdivision schemes with a tension parameter which unifies the schemes reproducing the exponential polynomials of any dimension. This class of subdivision schemes contains Dubuc-Deslauriers schemes (cf. [\textit{G. Deslauriers} and \textit{S. Dubuc}, Constructive Approximation 5, No. 1, 49--68 (1989; Zbl 0659.65004)]) and those described by \textit{S. W. Choi} et al. [Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 23, No. 4, 351--360 (2006; Zbl 1097.65032)], which reproduce polynomials. The convergence and smoothness of the schemes are also analyzed.
