This is a continuation of a previous paper by the second author [Cent. Eur. J. Math. 9, No. 4, 778--788 (2011; Zbl 1243.46043)], where it was shown that any surjective real-linear isometry \(T: A\to B\) between uniformly closed function algebras on locally compact Hausdorff spaces generates a homeomorphism \(\phi:\mathrm{Ch}\,B\to\mathrm{Ch}\,A\) between the corresponding Choquet boundaries, a continuous function \(k:\mathrm{Ch}\,B\to \mathbb{T}\) and a clopen subset \(K\) of \(\mathrm{Ch}\,B\) so that \(T(f)(y)=k(y)(f\circ\phi)(y)\) for \(y\in K\) (and \(\overline{k(y)(f\circ\phi)(y)}\) for \(y\in\mathrm{Ch}\,B\setminus K\)) for every \(f\in A\). In the present paper, the authors establish the above result when the algebras are represented as functions on the corresponding Shilov boundaries. Theorem. Any surjective isometry \(S: A\to B\) between uniformly closed function algebras \(A\) and \(B\) on locally compact spaces generates a homeomorphism \(\Psi: \partial B\to\partial A\) between the corresponding Shilov boundaries, a continuous function \(\tilde k:\partial B\to \mathbb{T}\) and a clopen subset \(\tilde K\) of \(\partial B\) so that \(T(f)(y)=T(0)+\tilde k(y)(f\circ\phi)(y)\) for \(y\in\tilde K\) (and \(\overline{\tilde k(y)(f\circ\phi)(y)}\) for \(y\in\partial B\setminus\tilde K\)) for every \(f\in A\). It is shown that \(\tilde k\equiv 1\) if both algebras possess approximate identities and, therefore, the algebras are real-algebraically isomorphic. An example for algebras without this condition that fail to be real-algebraically isomorphic is provided, too.
