A topological space is a c.c.c. space if every cellular (i.e. pairwise disjoint) open family is at most countable. A space \(X\) is selectively c.c.c. if for every sequence \(({\mathcal A}_n)_{n \in \omega}\) of maximal cellular open families there is a family \((A_n)_{n \in \omega}\) such that \(A_n \in {\mathcal A}_n\) and \(\bigcup_{n \in \omega} A_n\) is dense. This property has already been considered by M. Scheepers and B. Tsaban. It turns out that the property of being selectively c.c.c. is stronger than c.c.c. The author proves several quite interesting results about selectively c.c.c. spaces and then considers a stronger property called \(R\)-separable. A space \(X\) is \(R\)-separable if for every sequence \((E_n)_{n \in \omega}\) of dense subsets there is a sequence \((e_n)_{n\in \omega}\) such that \(e_n \in E_n\) and \(\{e_n : n \in \omega \}\) is dense. The author provides several interesting examples concerning the properties studied, e.g. there is a countable, zero-dimensional Hausdorff space that is not selectively c.c.c. In the last part of the paper, the author investigates a property called property \(S\) which is strictly between \(R\)-separability and the selectively c.c.c. property.
