On a magnetic characterization of spectral minimal partitions (Q388765)

The authors present a new characterization of the minimal partitions via specific magnetic Hamiltonians, which realize the infimum of \(\max_j\lambda(D_j)\) over all the \(k\)-partitions \(\{D_j\}_{j=1}^k\) of a bounded open set \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^2\) (\(D_j\) are open sets), where \(\lambda(D_j)\) is the ground state energy of the Dirichlet realization of the Laplacian in \(D_j\).
