The paper under review considers the following well-known canonical isometric embeddings of metric spaces into normed spaces: the Hausdorff-Kuratowski embedding and the Kantorovich-Rubinshtein embedding. Inspired by \textit{J. Melleray} et al. [Fundam. Math. 199, No. 2, 177--194 (2008; Zbl 1178.46016)], the author proves that these canonical embeddings do not coincide for every infinite compact metric space.
