The author considers the system of singularly perturbed delay equations \[ \begin{aligned} \epsilon^2 y''&=F\left(y(t),z(t),y(t-\sigma),z(t-\sigma),t\right)\;(\text{the fast subsystem}), \\ z''&=G\left(y(t),z(t),y(t-\sigma),z(t-\sigma),t\right)\;(\text{the slow subsystem}), \\ y(t)&=\varphi(t),\;z(t)=\psi(t),\;-\sigma\leq t\leq 0,\;y(T)=y^T,\;z(T)=z^T, \end{aligned} \] with \(\sigma>0,\) \(\sigma<T<2\sigma,\) \(0\leq t\leq T\) and the smooth initial functions \(\varphi(t)\) and \(\psi(t).\) Using asymptotic expansion techniques, the author constructs a smooth solution of the problem under consideration. The algorithm for constructing the asymptotic expansions of solutions is divided into six steps -- the construction of the regular terms, the construction of the boundary functions and the construction of the internal transition functions. The theory is illustrated by an example.
