A set \(D\subset\mathbb R^n\) is said to be invex with respect to \(\eta: D\times D\to\mathbb R^n\), if \(y+\lambda\eta(x,y)\in D\) holds for all \(x,y\in D\) satisfying \(\eta(x,y)\neq 0\) if \(x\neq y\) and \(\lambda\in[0,1]\). Assume that \(f: D\to\mathbb R\) is given on an invex set \(D\), and \(G: f(D)\to\mathbb R\) is a continuous increasing function. We say that \(f\) is \(G\)-preinvex in \(y\in D\) if it fulfills the inequality \[ f\bigl(y+\lambda\eta(x,y)\bigr)\leq G^{-1}\Bigl(\lambda G\bigl(f(x)\bigr)+(1-\lambda)G\bigl(f(y)\bigr)\Bigr) \] for all \(x\in D\) and \(\lambda\in[0,1]\). The authors introduce the notion of semi-\(G\)-preinvexity. First, some examples are presented to clarify the connection of semi-\(G\)-preinvex, semipreinvex, and \(G\)-preinvex functions; then some basic properties of semi-\(G\)-preinvexity are given.
