To find in an \(n\)-dimensional projective manifold the affine connections such that the symmetric part of the Ricci tensor vanishes means solving of an overdetermined semilinear PDE system, called the projective Einstein-Weyl equations (pEW). The author proves that for \(n=2\) there is no solution to the pEW equations, that is there exists no projective surface with skew-symmetric Ricci tensor. In case of the vanishing of the projective \(\rho\) tensor the constraint for the solvability of the pEW is \[ \text{Res}(P_1(t),P_2(t))=\text{Res}(P_2(t),P_3(t))=\text{Res}(P_1(t),P_3(t))=0, \] where \(P_1,P_2,P_3\) are polynomials in \(1\) parameter, and \(F_{ab}=\nabla_{[a}\alpha_{b]}\), \(\alpha\) being a \(1\)-form. Then, the local obstructions of the solvability of the pEW are \[ \begin{aligned} &15m^2+3mfk-hk^2=0,\\ &kY^a\nabla_a m-m(Y^a\nabla_a k+k\Phi-6m)=0, \end{aligned} \] where \(f,h,k,m\) are quantities obtained from the projective structure.
