Summary: A numerical study for the 3D unsteady structure of air-water flow of a water cannon has been carried out. As the Reynolds number of fluid is high, coupling with Large Eddy Simulation (LES), the Volume of Fluid (VOF) and Continuum Surface tension Force (CSF) method, the high-speed turbulent flow has been computed. The influences of electrovalve's opening and cannon's inclination on internal dynamics of two-phase in barrel and atomisation of jet have been investigated in detail. The driving forces of air, jet core length, spray angle, and the velocity field are obtained from the computational results.
