[For the entire collection see Zbl 0719.00018.] This work is related to the following important linearization problem: Is every action of a reductive algebraic group \(G\) on the affine space \(\mathbb{C}^ n\) linearizable, i.e. \(G\)-equivariantly isomorphic to a linear action? This problem has a positive answer in dimension \(<5\) [\textit{Kraft}, \textit{Popov}, \textit{Panyushev}] but in general it is not true. In the paper the author considers the smallest open case, namely \(\mathbb{C}^*\) action on \(\mathbb{C}^ 3\). One of the results is the following: Assume that the quotient \(\mathbb{C}^ 3/\mathbb{C}^*\) is smooth. Then the action is linearizable.
