The author establishes five theorems and several remarks on finite difference inequalities of Gronwall-type in one independent variable. These inequalities obtained are the ``inverse'' ones to those studied in some papers and their proofs follow the proofs of the original ones with suitable modifications. Applications of the results to finite difference equations are also indicated. One of the results reads as follows. Let \(u,a,c: N\to R_ +\), where \(N:=\{n_ 0,n_ 0+1,\dots\}\), \(R_ +:=[0,\infty)\), and \(n_ 0\) is a given natural number. Let further \(h: R_ +\to R_ +\) be continuous and nondecreasing. Then \[ u_ n\geq c_ n+\sum^{n-1}_{j=n_ 0} a_ jh(u_ j),\qquad n\in N, \] implies \(u_ n\geq y_ n\), \(n\in N\), where \(\{y_ n\}\) is the solution of the equation \[ y_ n=c_ n+\sum^{n-1}_{j=n_ 0} a_ j h(y_ j),\qquad n\in N, \] with the initial condition \(0\leq y_{n_ 0}\leq c_{n_ 0}\).
