In this very nicely motivated article, the authors develop homological theory of \(\mathbb{Z}\)-bigraded algebras appearing in non commutative algebraic geometry and in representation theory. There is an effective link between the representation theory of the given algebra and the resolution of singularities of its associated graded ring. The article provides the homological tools needed to relate the commutative and the non commutative sides. The authors study in particular the Auslander-Gorenstein condition, and generalise Gabber's equidimensionality result on characteristic varieties of irreducible representations of the algebra to this context. They apply their result to different quantizations of symplectic singularities including Cherednik algebras, in particular they answer a question posed in [\textit{I. Gordon} and \textit{J. T. Stafford}, Duke Math. J. 132, No. 1, 73--135 (2006; Zbl 1096.14003)].
