The authors consider the classical planar three-body problem in celestial mechanics. The three bodies form an equilateral triangle, and each body travels along a specified Keplerian elliptic orbit about the center of masses of the system. A new rigorous analytical method to study the linear stability of the Lagrangian elliptical solutions is introduced. Theorems on the existence and properties of the curves are proved. The stability bifurcation diagram of the Lagrangian triangular homographic orbits is shown on figures. The linear stability in the singular case when the eccentricity approach to one is analyzed in detail.
