Discrete semiclassical orthogonal polynomials of class one (Q403421)

The authors provide a constructive method for finding \(D_{\omega}\)-semiclassical orthogonal polynomials. They have focused on the polynomials of class \(s=1\) and their method is based on the Pearson equation that the corresponding linear functional satisfies. By considering particular solutions of the Pearson equation they obtain new families of orthogonal polynomials as well as some families of known orthogonal polynomials. Also, taking into account the Askey tableau for classical orthogonal polynomials they study analogues limit relations for semiclassical orthogonal polynomials of class \(s=1\).
