The authors consider an \(n\)-dimensional complete noncompact submanifold \(M\) in a sphere \(S^{n+p}\) with finite total curvature and no restriction on the mean curvature. They denote by \(H^1(L^2(M))\) the space of all \(L^2\)-harmonic \(1\)-forms on \(M\) and show that the dimension of \(H^1(L^2(M))\) is finite and that there are finitely many non-parabolic ends on \(M\) if the total curvature of \(M\) is finite and \(n\geq 3\). This result generalizes a result by \textit{H.-P. Fu} and \textit{H.-W. Xu} [Geom. Dedicata 144, 129--140 (2010; Zbl 1187.53057)] and also a result by \textit{M. P. Cavalcante}, \textit{H. Mirandola} and \textit{F. Vitório} about finiteness of non-parabolic ends on submanifolds in Hadamard manifolds [``\(L^2\)-Harmonic 1-forms on submanifolds with finite total curvature'', J. Geom. Anal. 24, No. 1, 205--222 (2014; \url{doi:10.1007/s12220-012-9334-0})].
