The author uses a series of conservation laws, some of them are called additional conservation laws. According to such definition of an additional conservation law, if the sum of two or more left-hand sides of divergent equations taken with variable multipliers yields the left-hand side of a divergent equation other than the original one but not necessarily new, then the corresponding conservation law is said to be additional with respect to the original ones. The author also gives much attention to nonlinear equations of Chaplygin which describe plane potential gas flows and, also, to linear equations of Chaplygin in the hodograph plane. He shows that these last equations generate an infinite set of nonlinear analogues of Chaplygin nonlinear equations in the potential plane. Using separation of variables, Rylov identifies some solutions of linear Chaplygin equations which are interesting not only for the construction of homogeneous divergent gas dynamic equations, but are also of interest on their own for the construction and analysis of gas flows. The solution with a logarithmic dependence is a spiral flow, and the author highlights the analogy of this solution with the known spiral Tollmien flow.
