    The authors consider a class of pseudo-differential operators with operator-valued symbols on some arbitrary Banach space \(E\). For \(m \in \mathbb R\), \(\nu \geq 0\), and \(r \in \mathbb N_0\) , they define their class of symbols \[ S^{m,\nu,r}:=S^{m,\nu,r}(\mathbb R^n_n \times \overline{\mathbb R^n_+}, L(E)) \] as the functions \(a:\mathbb R^n_x \times \overline{\mathbb R^n_+} \to L(E)\) that satisfy {\parindent=8mm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] \(x \mapsto a(x,\xi,\eta) \in C^r(\mathbb R^n,L(E))\) for all \((\xi,\eta) \in \overline{\mathbb R^n_+}\) \item[(ii)] \((\xi,\eta) \mapsto a(x,\xi,\eta) \in C^{\nu}( \overline{\mathbb R^n_+},L(E))\) for all \(x \in \mathbb R^n\) \item[(iii)] \(\sup_{x \in \mathbb R^n} \sup_{(\xi,\eta) \in \overline{\mathbb R^n_+} } \max_{|\alpha|+k \leq \nu} \max_{|\beta|\leq r} \langle \xi,\eta\rangle^{-m+|\alpha|+k} \| \partial^\beta_x \partial^\alpha_\xi \partial^k_\eta a(x,\xi,\eta)\|_{L(E)} < \infty.\) \end{itemize}} For \(a \in S^{m,\nu,r}\) with \(\nu\) large enough, they use the standard oscillatory integral approach to define their class of pseudo-differential operators as \[ [a(x,D,\eta)u](x) = \int \int a(x,\xi,\eta) u(x-y) e^{i \xi\cdot y} \, d\xi \, dy \qquad (x \in \mathbb R^n) \] for \(u \in C^\infty_b(\mathbb R^n_x, E)\). In their main result, they show that under suitable parabolicity assumptions, the Sobolev spaces \(W_p^k (\mathbb R^n,E)\)-realization of these operators generates an analytic semigroup. They conclude with some applications to the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to non-autonomous pseudo-differential Cauchy problems and to problems in coagulation-fragmentation processes with diffusion for a many-particle system.
