Let \(\Omega \) be a domain in \(\mathbb C^n\). An upper semicontinuous function \(u : \Omega \longrightarrow [-\infty, \infty)\) is called \(q\)-subharmonic if for every \(q\)-dimensional complex plane \(L\) in \(\mathbb C^n,\) the restriction \(u\) to \(L\cap \Omega\) is subharmonic. A domain \(\Omega \) in \(\mathbb C^n\) is said to be \(q\)-convex, if there exists a \(q\)-subharmonic exhaustion function on \(\Omega\), and it has property \((P'_q)\) if there exists a real valued, bounded \(\mathcal C^2\)-function \(\varphi\) on \(\Omega\) such that for every positive number \(M>0\), the function \(\varphi (z)- M|z|^2\) is \(q\)-subharmonic on \(\Omega \setminus K_M\) for some compact subset \(K_M\) of \(\Omega\). The authors point out that property \((P'_q)\) is a key notion especially when \(\Omega \) is unbounded. In the following they describe a class of domains satisfying property \((P'_q)\) and discuss boundedness and compactness of the \(\overline \partial\)-Neumann operator \(N_q: L^2_{(0,q)}(\Omega) \longrightarrow L^2_{(0,q)}(\Omega)\), where \(\Omega \) is a \(q\)-convex domain having property \((P'_q)\).
