The authors study the automorphism group of the modular curve \(X_{ns}(11)\) associated to a non-split Cartan subgroup of the modular curve \(\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)\). For general large \(p\) it is conjectured these curves admit only one modular involution. For the curve \(X_{ns}(11)\) the authors prove that this is not the case, they prove that it admits an other exotic involution \(\rho\) and \(\mathrm{Aut}X_{ns}(11)\) is isomorphic to the Klein four-group.NEWLINENEWLINEFor proving this they consider the modular curve \(X^+_{ns}(p)\) corresponding to the normalizer of the Cartan group, which is a \(2\)-cover of the original curve. Then an explicit model of the curve is provided, which allows us them to write down explicitly the extra involution \(\rho\). Finally by studying the decomposition of the Jacobian variety and the space of holomorphic differentials of the curve they show that the group of automorphisms is the Klein four group.
