The research on geometric structures of frequency domains of scaling functions and wavelets and particularly band-limited scaling functions and wavelets has assumed importance from both theoretical and practical standpoint. Against this background, the authors in their paper, have developed a technique to produce MSF scaling functions and wavelets from band-limited wavelets arising from MRA. What distinguishes MRA wavelets from general wavelets is orthonormality; which is indeed a desirable property. The technique is based on a concept of \(2\pi\)-translation kernels combined with a device like partition of frequency domain. The present work of characterizing MSF wavelets and corresponding scaling functions, may be viewed as culmination of earlier works on characterization of frequency domains of MSF scaling functions (1992) and band-limited scaling functions (2007) carried out by the authors and researchers working in the same field.
