The authors classify a particular type of arcs in \(\mathrm{PG}(2, q)\), \(q\) even, that consist of \(q/2 + 1\) points of a conic and two points off the conic. The methods are similar to those for the case of odd \(q\), employed by the same authors earlier [Electron. J. Comb. 17, No. 1, Research Paper R112, 27 p. (2010; Zbl 1196.51007)], but they differ in the initial setups. The initial step for \(q\) odd was based on an element of the field \(\mathrm{GF}(q)\) that is not a square, which of course cannot be used in the case of \(q\) being even. The latter case initial setup, described in detail in Section 2, rests on the properties of the subgroup of \(\mathrm{PGL}(3, q)\) that leaves both the conic and its external line invariant.
