Let \(X\) be a complex projective manifold. If \(X\) is not covered by rational curves, we know by a fundamental theorem of \textit{Y. Miyaoka} [Algebraic geometry, Proc. Symp., Sendai/Jap. 1985, Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 10, 449--476 (1987; Zbl 0648.14006)] that the cotangent bundle \(\Omega_X\) is generically nef, i.e. the restriction of \(\Omega_X|_C\) to a curve \(C\) cut out by sufficiently ample and general divisors is nef. If \(X\) is uniruled the situation is much more complicated, easy examples show that in general neither the cotangent bundle \(\Omega_X\) nor the tangent bundle \(T_X\) have any reasonable positivity property. In the paper under review the author proves that if the anticanonical bundle \(-K_X = \det T_X\) is sufficiently positive, the tangent bundle has some interesting positivity properties. More precisely he shows that if some multiple of \(-K_X\) is globally generated, then \(T_X\) is generically nef. Under the same assumption he proves that \(T_X\) is actually sufficiently nef (cf. the paper for the definition), a property that implies that the Albanese map of \(X\) is a submersion. The author conjectures that these statements also hold if \(-K_X\) is nef, a positive answer to this conjecture would also prove the famous conjecture that the Albanese map of a manifold with \(-K_X\) nef is a submersion. If \(-K_X\) is nef and big (i.e. \(X\) is a weak Fano manifold) the author proves that \(T_X\) is generically ample. This statement can be seen as a weak version of the conjecture claiming that the tangent bundle of a Fano manifold with Picard number one is stable. The proofs of these theorems rely on the description of the movable cone proved by \textit{C. Birkar, P. Cascini, C. D. Hacon} and \textit{J. McKernan} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 23, No. 2, 405--468 (2010; Zbl 1210.14019)] and recent extension results for holomorphic forms on singular varieties.
