The author introduces and discusses the notion of convex normality for rational polytopes and gives a lower bound on the edge lattice lengths for the rational polytope to be convex normal. This bound uniformly depends on the dimension of polytopes. As one of the results, the author gets the answer to the following question raised in 2007: suppose that \(P\) is a lattice simplex whose edges have lattice lengths greater than or equal to \(d(d+1)\), is it true that \(P\) is covered by lattice parallelepipeds?
