The authors consider the nonlinear discrete system involving the \(p\)-Laplacian \[ \Delta(\phi_p(\Delta u(n-1)))-a(n)|u(n)|^{p-2}u(n)+\nabla F(n,u(n))=0, \; n\in\mathbb{Z},\tag{1} \] where \(p\geqslant2, ~q>1,~ \frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{q}=1,~ \phi_p(s)=|s|^{p-2}s, \Delta\) is the forward difference operator defined by \(\Delta u(n)=u(n+1)-u(n), ~a : \mathbb{Z}\to \mathbb{R}\), and for \(m\in\mathbb{N}, ~F : \mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{R}^m\to \mathbb{R}\) with \(F(n+M,x)=F(n,x)\) for any \((n,x)\in\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{R}^m\) and some positive integer \(M>1\). Moreover, \(F(n,x)\) is continuously differentiable in \(x\) for all \(n\in\mathbb{Z}[1,M]\). By making use of the linking theorem, under suitable growth conditions on \(F\), the authors establish the existence of at least one nonconstant solution for system (1). For the special case \(a\equiv0\), the authors also obtain the existence of at least one nonconstant solution for system (1). These results will be very useful in studying the existence of periodic solutions for many discrete dynamic systems. The title of this paper accurately reflects its content. The abstract is clear and adequate, and the authors' work is novel and suggestive. The language is grammatically correct, and references are appropriate. This paper is well written and contains some correct and interesting results.
