Based on a theorem of \textit{V. Kadets} [Mat. Fiz. Anal. Geom. 11, No. 2, 161--168 (2004; Zbl 1087.46005)], the author establishes the following result: Let \(X\) be an infinite-dimensional Banach space equipped with the topology \(\sigma(X,X^*)\), where \(X^*\) is the continuous dual of \(X\). Then there is a sequence of weakly continuous real functions on \(X\) convergent uniformly on weakly compact subsets to a limit that fails to be weakly continuous.
