This paper focusses on an application of the Galerkin method for an initial boundary value problem. The problem of a non-stationary quasi-linear system desribing the flow of a non-uniformly heated viscous fluid is considered and mathematically described with the aid of orthogonal projections. Unique solvability of the approximated problem and convergence estimates are proven.
