Eigenvectors of Hessenberg Toeplitz matrices and a problem by Dai, Geary, and Kadanoff (Q417487)

The authors study eigenvectors of Hessenberg Toeplitz matrices whose symbol has a power singularity. In [J. Spectr. Theory 2, No. 3, 267--292 (2012; Zbl 1258.15011)] the first three authors considered the eigenvalues of such matrices. Here they describe the structure of the eigenvectors and prove an asymptotic formula for them. They confirm and clearify a conjecture from [\textit{H. Dai} et al., J. Stat. Mech. Theory Exp. P05012 (2009)] in a special case. A Motivation for these studies comes from statistical physics.
