This article is concerned with the Cauchy problem for the higher-order parabolic equation with a nonlocal-in-time nonlinearity: \[ \left\{\begin{aligned} u_t+(-\Delta)^m=\frac{1}{\Gamma(1-\gamma)}\int_0^t(t-s)^{-\gamma}|u|^p(s)ds, \quad (t,x)\in \mathbb{R}_+^1\times\mathbb{R}^N,\\ u(0,x)=\varphi(x), \quad x\in\mathbb{R}^N, \end{aligned}\right. \] where \(m,p>1\) and \(0<\gamma<1\). According to the different relationships among the sizes of \(p,m,\gamma, N\), the authors prove the existence of blow-up solutions and the existence of global solutions with small initial datum in time, respectively. Moreover, they give a decay estimate of \(\|u\|_\infty\) for appropriate \(p\), \(m\) and \(N\). Their treatment of global existence is to use the semigroup method, and for non-existence the test function method. This is attributed to the fact that the reaction term is nonlocal in time.
