The manuscript is one of a series of papers of the author, aimed at developing the theory of lattice-valued convergence spaces. In~[\textit{G.~Jäger}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 161, No. 7, 1002--1010 (2010; Zbl 1196.54011)], he constructed a lattice-valued analogue of the Richardson compactification of convergence spaces~[\textit{G.~D.~Richardson}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 25, 403--404 (1970; Zbl 0194.54702)] (introduced as an attempt to provide a ``Stone-Čech compactification'' for convergence spaces). The present manuscript fuzzifies the Rao one-point compactification of~[\textit{C.~J.~M.~Rao}, ibid. 44, 225--230 (1974; Zbl 0285.54019)] (which is then an analogue of ``Alexandroff one-point compactification'' for convergence spaces). Motivated by the achievements of~[\textit{D.~C.~Kent} and \textit{G.~D.~Richardson}, Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 2, 345--368 (1979; Zbl 0418.54005)] on the necessary and sufficient conditions under which a convergence space has a largest (resp. smallest) compactification, which is then the Richardson (resp. Rao) compactification, the current paper provides a lattice-valued analogue of the result for the Rao compactification (Theorem~5.6 on page~28). Interestingly enough, it appears that in case of the underlying lattice \(L\) having more than two elements (strictly non-crisp case), the Rao compactification is never the smallest \(T_2\)-compactification of a lattice-valued convergence space. Moreover, in an attempt to extend also the second of the above results, the author provides the concept of (local) boundedness for lattice-valued convergence spaces, which (when satisfied by a space) is sufficient for the Rao compactification to be smaller than the Richardson one (Lemma~6.2 on page~29). If the underlying lattice \(L\) is a complete Boolean algebra (e.g., in the crisp case), the condition is also the necessary one. The full extension of the result is announced to follow. The paper is well-written, self-contained, and easy to read, provided that one has a reasonable background on (lattice-valued) convergence spaces.
