The paper deals with the classic Bellman-Zadeh multi-stage optimal control problem with fuzzy dynamic system under fuzzy constraints on controls applied, and with fuzzy goals on states attained. An optimal sequence of controls is sought in the case of maximization of the fuzzy decision over a fixed and specified planning horizon. The genetic algorithm proposed for solving the problem is shown to be conceptually simpler and computationally more efficient than the traditionally employed techniques based mainly on dynamic programming and branch-and-bound algorithms.
