The rational Cherednik algebra \(H_c(W,\mathfrak h)\) is an important infinite-dimensional associative algebra associated to a complex reflection group; the representation theory of this algebra (in particular representations in its category \(\mathcal O\)) exhibits a Lie-like structure.NEWLINENEWLINE The aim of this paper is to study \(H_c(W,\mathfrak h)\) in the case where \(W\) is the group denoted \(G_{12}\) in the Shepard-Todd classification. The authors determine for which values of the parameter \(c\) the algebra is semisimple, and in the non-semisimple cases express the irreducible modules in terms of standard modules. The technique is to work first with the Hecke algebra associated to \(W\), and then use the KZ functor to transfer results to the rational Cherednik algebra. Of course, there is also a lot of computational work using CHEVIE.NEWLINENEWLINE The paper is very nicely written, giving an introduction to the rational Cherednik algebra which should be very accessible to non-experts. The main results are well presented, and the ingredients of the proof are explained very well. Of course, the main value in a paper like this is to record data which can be looked up, but the paper also serves as an introduction to the subject area (and a lesson in how to write papers).
