    Let \((X, d, \mu)\) be a metric measure space, let \(L\) be a linear operator that has a bounded \(H_{\infty}\)-functional calculus and satisfies the Davies-Gaffney estimates, let \(\Phi\) be a concave function on \((0, \infty)\) of critical lower type \(p^{-}_{\Phi} = \sup \{p>0:\Phi(st) \leq Ct^p\Phi(s) \text{ for all } 0 < t < 1 \text{ and all } 0< s <\infty \} \in (0, 1]\), and let \(\rho (t)=t^{-1}/ \Phi^{-1}(t^{-1})\) for all \(0 < t < \infty\). The authors introduce the VMO-type space \(VMO_{\rho, L}(X)\) associated with \(L\) and characterize the space \(VMO_{\rho, L}(X)\) via the tent space. The main purpose of this paper is to prove that \[ (VMO_{\rho, L}(X))^*=B_{\Phi, L^*}(X), \] where \(L^*\) denotes the adjoint operator of \(L\) in \(L^2(X)\) and \(B_{\Phi, L^*}(X)\) is the Banach completion of the Orlicz-Hardy space \(H_{\Phi, L^*}(X)\) These results generalize the results of \textit{R. Jiang} and \textit{D. Yang} [J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 17, No. 1, 1--35 (2011; Zbl 1213.42079)] in the \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\) case.
