On the Noether exponent and other applications of local intersection index (Q428766)

The author establishes a connection between the index of intersection defined in local analytic geometry and the Noether exponent for germs of holomorphic mappings. A generalization of previous estimates for the Łojasiewicz exponent at infinity for polynomial mappings on algebraic varieties is also obtained. The proofs use methods of local intersection theory in continuity with the author's earlier work [Ann. Pol. Math. 78, No. 2, 181--191 (2002; Zbl 1001.32004)] and of her joint article with \textit{T. Krasiński} and \textit{P. Tworzewski} [Invent. Math. 136, 75--87 (1999; Zbl 0942.32003)].
