The paper under review continues research of the first author concerning an appropriate Fredholm theory for the \(\overline \partial\)-Neumann operator on \(G\)-manifolds. The authors consider a strongly pseudoconvex \(G\)-manifold \(M\) on which \(G\) acts freely by holomorphic transformations and they suppose that the quotient \(\overline M/G\) is compact. The main point for their spectral analysis approach is the observation that the semigroup of the \(\overline \partial\)-Neumann Laplacian \(\square\) is ultracontractive, which in turn is equivalent to the validity of a Nash-type inequality. This inequality reads as follows: for integer \(s>{\text{dim}}_{\mathbb{C}} M\) one has \[ \| u\|^{2+1/s}_{L^2} \lesssim Q(u) \, \|u\|^{1/s}_{L^1}, \] for each \((p,q)\)-form \(u\in {\text{dom\,}}\overline \partial \cap {\text{dom\,}}\overline \partial^* \cap L^1\), where \(Q(u)=\big\langle \overline \partial u, \overline \partial u \big\rangle + \big\langle \overline \partial^* u, \overline \partial^* u \big\rangle\). After this the authors indicate that for the heat semigroup \(P_t=e^{-t\square}\) one obtains operator norm estimates in \(L^p\) spaces as well as Sobolev spaces and they give an off-diagonal estimate for the heat semigroup in terms of the intrinsic metric \(d_\square\) induced by \(\overline\partial : \mathcal{C}^\infty (M,\mathbb{R}) \longrightarrow \mathcal{C}^\infty (M,\Lambda^{0,1} )\) and a \(G\)-invariant Hermitian structure on \(\Lambda^{0,1}\): for measurable subsets \(A\), \(B\) of \(M\) one has \[ \big\| {\mathbf{1}}^{}_B P^{}_t {\mathbf{1}}^{}_A\big\|^{}_{2\to 2} \leq \exp \left [ -\frac{d_\square(A;B)^2}{4t}\right ]. \] Finally it is shown that for \(t>0\) and \(q>0\) the heat operator \(P_t\) is bounded from \(H^{-s}(\overline M, \Lambda^{p,q})\) to \(H^s(M, \Lambda^{p,q}) \) for any positive integer \(s.\)
