An operator \(T:E\rightarrow X\) from a Banach lattice \(E\) into a Banach space \(X\) is called AM-compact if \(T(B)\) is relatively compact for each order bounded subset \(B\) in \(E\). In general, AM-compact operators and weakly compact operators are distinct classes of operators. Among other things, the authors characterize Banach lattices for which each AM-compact operator \(T:E\rightarrow X\) is weakly compact.
