The authors obtain the existence of two positive solutions of the focal boundary value problem for the \(n\)-th order differential equation \[ u^{(n)} =f(t,u), \] when the function \(f\) is sublinear at one endpoint (zero or infinity) and superlinear at the other. The technique involves an application of a fixed point theorem for operators on a cone in a Banach space.
