Locally monotone multifunctions in spaces without linearity (English)

Let \(\Phi\) be a family of extended real valued functions defined on a topological space \(X\). A multifunction \(\Gamma\) mapping \(X\) into \(\Phi\) is said to be locally cyclic monotone if for every \(x\in X\) there is a neighborhood \(U\) of \(x\) such that for every \(x_0,x_1,\dots,x_n=x_0\in U\) (\(n\) arbitrary) and \(\phi_{x_i}\in \Gamma(x_i)\), \(i=0,1,2,\dots, n\), one has \(\sum_{i=1-n} [\phi_{x_{i-1}} (x_{i-1})- \phi_{x_i} (x_i)]\geq 0\). The local \(\Phi\)-subdifferential of \(f:X\to \overline{R}= R\cup\{+\infty,-\infty\}\) at \(x_0\in X\) is defined as the set of functions \(\phi\in\Phi\) for which there is a neighborhood \(U\) of \(x_0\) such that \(f(x)- f(x_0)\geq \phi(x)- \phi(x_0)\) for all \(x\in U\). The mapping assigning to each \(x_0\) this set is proven to be locally cyclic monotone whenever \(\Phi\) has the local strong globalization property, i.e., if for every \(x_0\in X\) there is a neighborhood \(U_0\) such that on \(U_0\) each element in the \(\Phi_{|U_0}\)-subdifferential (with \(\Phi_{|U_0}= \{\varphi_{|U_0}: \varphi\in\Phi\}\)) is actually a global \(\Phi_{|U_0}\)-subgradient (i.e., the inequality is satisfied for all \(x\in X\)). The particular case when \(X\) is an open set in a locally convex topological vector space and \(\Phi\) is the class consisting of all linear (or affine) continuous functionals restricted to \(X\) is studied in detail.
