Separating the pressure from the inertia in the flux of \(2-D\) compressible Euler equations, one obtains two systems of equations which may be called the transport and the pressure-gradient systems, respectively. The author establishes the existence of a smooth solution in its elliptic region in the self-similar plane to this pressure-gradient system.
