The authors deal with a large class of problems related to the electromagnetic behavior of thin superconductors, using some properties of Erdélyi-Kober operators together with Hankel operators. The authors obtain the current density and magnetic field distributions in thin superconductors, such as a perfectly conducting or superconducting disc in a uniform magnetic field, a superconducting tape in the critical state with transport current or in a uniform magnetic field, a superconducting plane with a gap, and so on. The author's method is the operator method, using Erdélyi-Kober operators and Hankel operators. The outstanding feature of their method is that it provides a unified way to handle the problems above.
