An analysis of time-space varying second-order parabolic distributed-parameter systems using the Walsh function approach is presented. Three different boundary value problems are considered and reduced to the corresponding systems of linear algebraic equations. To solve them, the partial differential equations are converted into integral ones where only the second partial derivative with respect to \({\mathcal X}\) and the known boundary conditions appear. Then the appropriate Walsh transformation for integration is developed with the aid of which these integral equations are solved. A numerical example is provided which shows that the accuracy of the method is comparable to that obtained through the classical Dufort-Frankel finite difference scheme.
