This paper deals with the mathematical analysis of a model for gene expression including transcriptional and translational time delays.NEWLINENEWLINELinear stability of equilibria is investigated and taking the total time delay as parameter, existence of a Hopf bifurcation is established. The normal form and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation are computed by using a multiple time scales technique.NEWLINENEWLINEThe paper ends with some numerical simulations to illustrate the theoretical results for the model.
